"The guy had no idea what he had. I think he just saw something and
thought it might be worth something." Stated Correction Officer Thomas
Roth. That something turned out to be a GPS tracker - normally worn by
jail prisoners serving home detention.
The thief had stolen the tracker from a prisoners front porch earlier
that day. Totally unaware of what the device did he headed home to
inspect his loot. Little did he know that the bracelet sends an
automatic signal to the police if it strays too far from the prisoners
house. This left the police with the simple task of following the signal
and knocking on the thief's door. Apparently he now has a GPS tracker
all of his own.
